I realized something about myself today while daydreaming about a novella I want to finish.

I get going on a project, whether that’s a coding thing or a writing thing, and somewhere two-thirds of the way in, I get some inspiration and realize that I want to do it entirely differently, or at least to re-flow it based on that new idea. I find it very hard to do that with writing - much easier with code.

with code, at least, I find that my do-overs are a great improvment - I need/want to find a way to bring that spirit into my writing.

there was more to that thought, when it occurred to me on the bus, but some of it has drifted away in going to the grocery store, making dinner, etc. for some reason, I think it had something to do with this interview.
