whew.
so the hotel room decision turned out to be a bit premature….
so we went home to check on the cats, and as we drove up the hill, it looked like streetlights were on that hadn’t been last night. including the one in front of our house!
we turned on some lights and the furnace, checked the freezer (everything’s still frozen solid) and the fridge (most things will need to be thrown out), got all the cats inside…
and went back to the hotel, picking up pizza on the way.
because we’d already checked in, and it was warm, and all our clothes for tomorrow were there. it’s an expense we don’t really need, honestly, and if we’d just waited it out a little longer we would’ve been fine at home. but here we are, and it’s warm and comfortable, and I’m looking forward to a long deep sleep.
