You are doing nothing wrong. The brace is creating problems.
This happened to me first with a DeQuervain’s brace that was too tight, and next with an under-elbow tendinitis brace.
Sigh….
I would call the doctor now. I’ve used braces once or twice over the years, and they made me more comfortable, even when sleeping, rather than less.
