In all my gushing, I forgot to mention the thing I’ve been enjoying that was a total surprise: riding in skirts. The Xtra moves the rear wheel back out of skirt-grabbing range, so I’ve been able to experiment with a variety of skirts on the bike, inspired greatly by Dottie & Trisha. And I’ve found that I love cycling in a skirt. It’s a bit daring, kinda girly & punk at the same time, or at least that’s how it seems to me.
