in which I write about stuff

amidst my notes

the author finds a haiku in an unlikely place, and considers writing more.

I found this on a page of to-items for some Drupal work:

birds wheeling & diving
in a brilliant blue fall sky
on the other side of the glass

and I’m putting it here just for reference/storage as I toss the notes in the recycle bin.

Speaking of poetry, I’ve been feeling the itch to write. NaNoWriMo is coming up fast, but I have neither the time nor the energy nor the ideas to try that crazy sh!t. So I’m thinking about writing a poem a day instead. NaPoWriMo, if you will. I started re-reading Mary Oliver’s A Poetry Handbook over the weekend; her prose is as light and clear and strong (and inspiring!) as her poetry.

I may or may not post the results of my work here. It depends on how exposed I’m ready to be. (Or possibly how badly the poems turn out.)
